You make a good point. The sterilization project is something that was encouraged during the Eugenics craze in this country back in the early 20th century. In fact, that is how Margaret Sanger , the founder of Planned Parenthood, got started. She also believed in the sterilization of what was then called the “unfit”. ALthough it is tempting to think the world would be better off if the drug addicts were sterilized, the process would never stop with them. It would quickly spread to any social undesirable which, depending upon the era, could be anyone not in step with the prevaling governmental philosophy.

Cant be repeated enough. Government encroachment is never stopped by allowing them to do just a little bit more. How about alcoholics, smokers? What about people with genetic disorders that may be passed on to the children? Government will NOT stop and one would be sadly mistaken if they believe it will stop before getting to them.
