I've hit five moose. In 1970, I hit two at one time. In 1983 I hit one with a Camaro. In 2001, I ran over a dead one. It was laying in the highway. On Jan2, 2003, I hit one wwith a Pontiac Grand Am. A mild hit, only $3,000.00. All of those were after dark. I had a close call in 2008. So close, the moose kicked the front fender with a rear hoof. minor dent.

In all these cases, I only spent one night in the hospital, total. Three moose died, onr was already dead, one ran off. The last one also ran off(with a red toenail)

That’s quite a record! I’m sure Alaska leads the nation in car/moose collisions by a long shot. I’m glad you survived ‘em all.
