What does your Freeper sign on mean? Why did you choose it?
Nam Vet
Naomi Vetkowski!!!! I’ve been looking for you for YEARS!
How ya been?
:)
:)
I like it!
In honor of the Polish uprising against the Germans in Warsaw of 1944.
( Was reading Norman Davies book on the subject at the time)
Variation of my last name...easy to remember and it’s genderless.
I live in AZ and in the summer (which seems to last forever) it’s hot.
azishot
lol!
It was my 5th choice and was getting tired of trying to chose one.
This one worked, HAHAHAHAHAHA
My FReeper name refers to my two daughters duty stations in the Navy when I first signed up. London, England (it was really Alconbury but who’s familiar with that?) and Everett, WA. :~)
Mine comes from the sound the laser scanner makes while ringing up your purchases.
Don Martin was a genius. (and my face doesn't look like a plate of spaghetti!)
“California Con” -— pretty simple = the ‘Con’ is for Conservative, though a few have thought it meant ‘con’ like ‘con man’ or ‘ex-con’ LOL
My first girlfriend gave me the nickname and I was born in 1960.
;-)
When I signed up after a couple of years of lurking, I was in a martial art with my son. The art is named “tang soo do” which is a first cousin to Tae Qwon Do and also Korean based. “Tang Soo” was a form of greeting used by our instructors. I am not Asian as some have suspected. BTW, my son went on to become a 2nd black belt. After two years I took a fall on my shoulder which still bothers me 10 years later. that was the end of my career in karate.
LOL! I live fairly close to several of those "shade grown" tobacco fields, btw...
In growing season (coming up soon), the fields look like a bunch of leaves growing under huge cheesecloth "tents". Once harvested, the workers hang the leaves in barns on the properties for drying, I think.
When my sister was a kid, she was a tobacco worker during summer break from school. It was a dirty job, but she made a lot of $$ at the time. Now they "import" the workers from who knows where...
I do blacksmithing for a hobby.
I've just moved back to CA after 10 years in AZ. I still think I deserve a medal for it (or at least a t-shirt saying, "I survived 10 summers in AZ")!
I am an electronics and RF engineer. I grew up in the backwoods, now live in suburban hell, and long to escape it to go back to the woods ;-)
My great-grandfather. He lost a leg to friendly fire at Antietam, came home to western Mass., farmed, taught school, co-founded a commercial bank (1889) and a savings bank (1890) that are still among the soundest in the U.S. today (”Texas ratios” of 1 and 0).
I could have had SW19!!!
