Should be worried tonight ...

Andrew Garcia

Aaron Kelly

I would include Urban, but I think the Ferlies like him more than Yoda boy.

Siobhan Magnus

The "emotional performances" (and her general weirdness) are wearing thin.

I agree. An out of the park performance can float you for a couple of weeks, but she's had some real stinkers lately.

Finally! The week we have been waiting for all year. Every single contestant did well this week, even the Turbanator himself.

For all the people who have been whining about the contestants not doing hardly anything contemporary, well last night was your answer why. This is the kind of talent that is brought out when the contestants are faced with suberb music that is filled with melody, rythm and meaningful lyrics. Nary a Crotch grab, a blah blah blah or a synthesized voice to be found; and the result was nine good to excellent performances that highlighted the contestants singing voices.

It was really tough to rank the contestants this week as the top 5 on the night were all excellent, and the remianing 4 were just a slight bit behind those 5. You could honestly jumble 1 thru 5 and 6 thru 8 and you would not get an argument from me. I think we all know who was 9th, but even he was quite good this week.

1. Casey James - Jealous Guy - Took a huge risk with a very obscure Lennon song, and hit it out of the park. the acoustic blues touch was excellent, and Casey’s voice complimented that perfectly. By far his best performance of the year.

2. Crystal Bowersox - Come Together - Crystal back with her guitar and doing oh sooo smooth. Even with bronchitis she nailed this. I have liked other Crystal performances better, but this one was right up at the top.

3. Michael Lynche - Eleanor Rigby - Big Mike rocked it out with an awesome R&B take on this classic. I loved this performance, and could honestly hear this song as a single. Excellent job.

4. Siobhan Magnus - Across the Universe - Another huge risk with an obscure song, and, just like Casey, Shabonbon nailed it. This was an absolutely beautiful haunting performance that highlighted the richness and tonal quality of Siobhan’s voice.

5. Lee Dewyze - Hey Jude - Loved the bagpipes and dug the whole arrangement and performance. maybe not quite to the level of the 4 above him, but one could argue it was. Excellent job.

6. Andrew Garcia - Can’t buy me Love - Another solid performance by Andrew. He is back on top of his game the last couple weeks. I absolutely loved this, but the fact i have him 6th is a testement to the quality of the artists ahead of him. Andrew has some talent, but he is not in the top 5.

7. Katie Stevens - Let it Be - Her best performance of the season in my opinion. she was absolutely superb, her voice was beautiful, but once again she was just a step behind the ones above her. katie has a ton of talent, but she is just not ready to step up to the upper group. But, I agree 100% with Simon, this girl has an absolute pure Country voice, and that is the direction she needs to go.

8. Aaron Kelly - Long and Winding Road - Ok the world might be ending, for the second week in a row I actually liked Aaron. he did a good job on this song, but Ellen was right in calling it a “long and winding song”. Aaron did well, sounded great, but got lost in the shuffle of the amazing performances that followed him.

9. Tim the Turbanator Urban - All My Lovin’ - The man, the myth, the legend, the GENIOUS? Yes, the genious. this was sung straight to the throngs of tween texters that love Bobby sherman Jr. He cheesed it up, he hammed it up, and I am willing to bet he hit a home run with the demographic he was aiming at. As for me, this was entertaining, not great but entertaining, and in the end can we ask for more?

SHOULD GO HOME - based on the total body of work, it should be Tim. If I went solely on tonight, Tim was 9th, but believe it or not - I cannot honestly say any of them deserve to leave.

WILL GO HOME - I have no earthly idea. Tim has so many tweeny fans that he may actually be with us for a while. Based on bottom 3 appearances I would say Katie needs to worry, and possibly Andrew. But, total honesty here, everyone was so good I will predict that one of the favorites will be in the bottom 3 and this could be a huge shocker week.

THE SAVE - I will predict right now that there is a 75% chance the save will be used tonight. If it is anyone other than Tim, I think the judges will seriously consider it. The might not save Andrew and possibly Katie, but they will deliberate even over them. Any of the other six and I will flat out say THEY USE THE SAVE.
