How to make a Penny Can Stove

I just thought this was neat. I made one in about 10 minutes using a different design.
I made mine about the size of a skoal can and it will burn for about 40 min. Boils 2 cups of water in about 5 min.
I dont think the RTV is necessary if you get a good interference fit.

Yep. Was at the range today fine tuning the sights. Not happy with the russkie ammo and still waiting for the Hornady rounds -- intergalactic backorder. (Rear sight is staked, that made for a challenge, but I got it done.)

Rear sight is staked? I have never seen that.
I hope the thing serves you well.
I cant say enough about them as you know.
I think the sights on those things are very modern for a milsurplus item.

A nice little center punch on the centerline at the forward edge of the rear sight. Took some serious pounding with a brass drift, BFH and a padded vise to get the thing to move. The original paint (tritium?) was gone when I got it, so I applied some new paint and they work just great.
Oh, and no sale. ;)

I use a brass drift to float sights as well.
I have never seen a CZ 82 with worn sights.
I just had to redo a Star BMs sights but that was just because I had to drift them out to replace the firing pin.
I have one M1 Rockola carbine thats sights are heavily staked.

Yep, that's the stuff I'm waiting for. I already have the reloading dies, primers and case prep tools. Just have to get some powder and the backordered Hornady factory loads so I have some brass to reload.

Well, I don’t know if it’s a stake, but that sight was welded in place. After all these years, I’m not surprised.
I think you just hijacked your own thread. ROFL!

Well, humor us chicks for a bit, in the interest of education.
I look around and do I have Heet? Nope, but I have Raid wasp/hornet 20ft killer cans, hair gels and sprays that the
first ingredient is FLAMMABLE, plus bbq starter.
I have a bottle of transmission fluid, some paint thinner, and quite a bit of nail polish remover.
These will fill in in an emergency, yes?

None of my stuff actually lists methanol as an ingredient. But they all go boom.

K. Gonna build one of these tomorrow, and guess I’m going to go with nail polish remover (acetone).
