How do you hold it and type on it at the same time?
Put it on top of your lap.
So it’s really a lap top.
Yawn
My wife has a kindle and the two things that impress me are
1. The display. Yes, it’s just black and white, but she can read it outside by the pool in daylight. I cannot do that with any notebook and I wonder if the iPad display will do that.
2. Battery life.. it’s incredible..
Except that it can’t do all the things a Lap Top can do.
It’s a silly device, costly, novelty only.
That is not Apple bashing...I own an iPhone, etc, but this device is a novelty only.
Without the hard keyboard hinged thingie that supports the screen so you type on the screen.
Business idea...looking for investors...A remote keyboard and support device to plug an iPad into.
Oh goodie now the government can track you even better where ever you go. Enjoy
waiting for mine! keep us posted on your impressions :-)

Could you let me know if my books are available on it?
No ports....no USB, etc.....pretty much rules it out for me.
Apple iPad: The FCC Dissects it So We Don't Have To
No USB ports????
WTH is the point of the thing then?
That seems to be what I’ve been able to gather. My impression in reading articles, etc. that is if you want to ‘get’ something loaded on it, you need to get it from Apple like on the iPhone for APPs.
Apple is not interested in making things easier for the user. Their job #1 is to make money.
Which is why I will stick my my MS laptop.
Most reviews I have read say it is the best way to consume content around (provided the video you want to watch comes from a source with an iPad app or HTML5), it is however, not great at creating content.
