Glock model 22 with conceal holster and many mags. Destination: Friends farm well outside of Atlanta, 20 hours walking distance with pack. In shape and capable of making the trip. Girlfriend similarly equipped and similarly in shape.

Staged at friends farm: More ammo, rifle, ammo for that, Foxfire series of books. Lighting consists of LED lightsources and lots of longlife batteries.

I read the article about surviving societal collapse in Argentina. It disabused me of Rambo-esque myths and gave me good ideas on how to actually make it.
