Yeah, the government should just run everything. /sarc Science in the public interest - results: useless junk and public control tech. Straight out of Atlas Shrugged, the State Science Institute. They did come up with a good torture device.

BTW, the US graduates more lawyers than anything else. China is graduating engineers who may actually solve problems rather than create more legislation.
