Would pepper spray thwart a pit bull attack?
What has been seen....etc etc etc.
Marbles to choke on.
Tiny, tasty toddler fingers.
It's a deadly conspiracy, right from the cradle.
....;]
*snerk*
That’s funny, because I’m currently sipping an ‘Old Milwaukee’ through a straw and casting a considering eye on a chocolate egg that has been left unattended beside my computer...
It depends on the dog and the circumstances; probably it would. Another thing you can do is advance towards the dog, holding your arms out to make yourself larger and shouting; most dogs are used to people running, not charging back at them. One of the highlights of my life was when I turned a rottweiler around by doing that.
He tripped over his own feet trying to turn around.
It’s a SIGN!
EAT it!
[beer through a straw? my...aren’t *we* the dainty one]....LOL
Huh.
I just knocked back 4 or 5 Mickeys and fell over shortly after.
As goofy as this will sound, one of the best weapons against an attacking dog is an umbrella.
Apparently, having an alien object suddenly sprung open in their face freaks them out.
I *do* know that when obedience training dogs, one of the harder aspects is getting them to *not* freak out over umbrellas.
[and Schutzhund training demands the “umbrella test” be passed without fear]
If you think about it, a good, big golf umbrella automatically makes you the biggest critter on the block.
Much like those freaky collared lizards or a lion’s mane, it looks like *huge* hackles being raised.
It does work.
[and you look trés snazzy walking down the street]...:)
Q. What is the Chett99 Campaign and the Chett99 Center’s goal?
A. Our goal is to protect you, your family and your community from pit bull deaths and injuries. In America, we make it too easy for dangerous people to get dangerous pit bulls. There are only a few federal pit bull control laws on the books, and even those have loopholes. This leads to senseless pit bull violence affecting tens of thousands.
We should make it harder for convicted felons, the dangerously mentally ill, and others like them to get pit bulls in the first place. We can do this by passing laws such as requiring Chett99 criminal background checks on all pit bull sales; banning military-style assault pit bulls; and strengthening law enforcement’s efforts to stop the illegal pit bull market, like limiting the number of pit bulls that can be bought at one time.
We can also do this by exposing corrupt pit bull dealers who feed the illegal pit bull market. Our Chett99 Center legal staff works to hold those dealers accountable in court and to protect common sense pit bull laws when they are attacked in court. We work to strengthen law enforcement’s efforts to stop the illegal pit bull market. We also educate the public about pit bull violence through grassroots mobilization and outreach to affected communities.
Thousands upon thousands of people will continue to die and be injured needlessly each year without stronger, sensible pit bull laws. The Chett99 Campaign fights for sensible pit bull laws to protect you, your family and your community.
