It's a little late to get ready for that unforeseen event that brings this Country to its knees!

The first thing to do I have heard was to get a 72 hour emergency kit. I am sure there are people out there that can explain it in detail better then I can?

Katadyn water filter (good for 13000 gallons), food tablets (compact, high-calorie, tasty with a full vitamin load) for one man-years worth of eating, tent and camping gear all in a bugout backpack. Glock model 22 with conceal holster and many mags. Destination: Friends farm well outside of Atlanta, 20 hours walking distance with pack. In shape and capable of making the trip. Girlfriend similarly equipped and similarly in shape.
Staged at friends farm: More ammo, rifle, ammo for that, Foxfire series of books. Lighting consists of LED lightsources and lots of longlife batteries.
I read the article about surviving societal collapse in Argentina. It disabused me of Rambo-esque myths and gave me good ideas on how to actually make it.
