There is only one television in my house but I don't too often watch it. "24" was one of the few shows I watched. It should have been canceled three years ago.

Same should be said of any TV show. No matter how good a show, no show should run more than two or three seasons. Eventually ideas will be run out of, writing will get stale or the show will otherwise "jump the shark" for one reason or another.

There have been a few great original shows on TV over the past 20 years. X-Files, Sopranos, Mad Men, Deadwood, The Office, NYPD Blue, Lost.

All of them ran too long. They all went from being an original show to being a tired caricature of a show.

Shows run too long. Way too long.
