Actually we started in season 3 or 4, and intended to watch the others but never got around to it. It was a tiny bit confusing right at first, but not for long.
The first five seasons are excellent. I’m hard pressed to pick a favorite. You want good entertainment, netflix those. The first five seasons had a lot more continuity because they kept the same characters. Everybody I know has panned the last three seasons.....including blogs for Bauer.

There’s too many spoilers, though. It’s also fun to watch the evolution of Jack the “normal” family man to what we see today.
