There are three or four Republicans running right now.

Justice Dept. draws those race-based districts.

Instead of being defeatist, how about if we find a candidate that can educate and expose the left and how they keep minorities under their thumb through false promises and fear-mongering? IE, don't get a typical politician but someone with the brass ones to tell it like it is. I would love to see more people like Alfonzo Rachel who can really challenge the stereotypes the left uses to keep people down.

What are you talking about? Your the one who said ‘black section’. If you cant see beyond color, that’s your own problem.

Do you have anything more ‘detailed’ than the ‘black’ section? I understand Democrats wanting to label in colors; that doesn’t mean you do as well.

How about "most crime-ridden area?" Or, "Least Diverse Area?" Am I getting warm? Shun political correctness. It's going to get us all killed.

“The smart move is to NOT run anyone against her. We cannot win the seat, and ANY opponent only adds 20,000 Dem voters to the statewide races on election day.”

Yeah, there is truth to that sadly.

Still, it is hard to just cede away congressional districts like this. I’d think it’s better to just keep trying until one day maybe, just maybe, enough black folks realize Corrine Brown is a complete embarrassment to their district and a horrible reflection on themselves.

But, as of now, black people tend to vote for whoever offers them the most freebies. The number two issue tends to be about whomever bitches a lot about whitie. Black voters will virtually always vote for ANY Democrat over a Republican, but strongly prefer a Black Democrat over any other option. Also being well spoken, educated, reasonable intelligent, etc are not really qualifications most black voters are looking for. Corrine Brown being a prime example of this.

Sad state of affairs, but I think we gotta keep putting up candidates and hope one day things change.

What the heck is wrong with speaking the straight facts?

The district was deliberately drawn up to take in the "black" sections of the areas in the map. It is a "black" district. If it was done with Hispanics in mind or white or Asians in mind, it would still be just as wrong, and the description of the group that benefited would not be wrong either.

Being politically correct doesn't correct the injustices that are perpetrated in the name of political correctness.

First off, Kilroy, learn to use proper grammar. The word is "you're," as in "you are," not "your." Second, there's an apostrophe in the contraction "can't," unless you meant a salient angle.

Secondly, fine. You don't like describing a district as "black." Would you prefer "primarily African-American?" "Persons of Other than European or Asian descent?" Happy now? Great, because it doesn't change the facts.

If the best you can do is quibble over the difference between "black" and "African-American," it's simply not good enough.

I don’t think it defeatist to keep 20.000 home. It’s called “choose your battles.”

Is Florida one of those states where the Feds. do this instead of the State Legislators under the Voting Rights Act?

Breitbart is thinking of making a "Big Tolerance" website to go with his Big Hollywood, or so I was reading at Hillbuzz.

Do you realize what a boon that would be, an opportunity to highlight the black-on-white racism that is the real "race" story today? A way to expose the Tawanna Brawley, the astroturf, ACORN...

Interesting strategy. If it helps Marco Rubio, that is all I care about.

Actually, on some issues, such as the VA Hospital here in Orlando, she was a huge help.

Twenty years too late. And after Clinton killed it originally.

In an intellectual sense, your point is well taken, but in a practical sense, it has a 40 year history of complete failure.

The leaders in that group to NOT want to be educated on the merits of conservatism if such a program means they will have to give up their free lunches (Schools), free rent (HUD), free food (Food stamps), free medical care (Medicaid and Obamacare), free money for having additional kids out of wedlock,(AFDC), Not paying their mortgage (the latest Obama Executive Order), preference in government jobs and contracts, (Affirmative Action)

The list goes on and on.

How bad is it? J.C Watts NEVER won the Black vote in his district, OK-4.

Rather than thinking of it as defeatism. please see it as a away to PREVENT 20,000 votes for the Dem candidate for Gov or Senator.
