I sem to remember a Sherlock Holmes story in which the person committing suicide tied a balloon filled with hydrogen or helium to the pistol,so that after firing his hand would relax and the pistol be carried away.But the keen-eyed detective noticed scrath marks on the UPPER window frame.
Isn't it amazing the lengths killers will go to making their crimes appear to be suicide?
I just have to be the sceptic .

I think that was also re-done recently on some crime show. Shortly after a guy in Eastern NM copy catted that, cut a alloy frame S&W J-frame revolver to reduce weight, tied it to some balloons and offed himself.
His strong suit wasn’t calculating lift, it was found in some bushes nearby.
