Joan nails it — and good for her!

Sadly, Joan, I am no longer available for films. But thanks for thinking of me...

Agreed ;-) Perhaps Joan didn’t have the opportunity to get to know Ronald Reagan? She appears to be speaking mainly of people whom she had an opportunity to meet.

I don’t think anyone questions Charlton Heston’s or John Wayne’s ratings on the masculinity meter.

Interesting read. Thanks for the posting. This kind of reminds me of the excerpts from Robert Wagner’s book that I read. One I remember is Robert’s weekend fling with Barbara Stanwyck a woman at the time who was a “few” years older than him. Interesting reads.

in the 50’s and 60’s Robert Mitchum was the very hottest of the hot. and no one out masculines John Wayne. i wish there were still leading men like that. i also wish there were leading ladies with the class of Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Maureen O’Hara.

Agreed, and Joan Collins mentions Charlton Heston in the article.  Perhaps she didn't meet John Wayne?  It could also be that she has met so many stars that she couldn't really mention all of them in the article, and just took a few examples.

From the article:

Another huge, manly star graced Dynasty for one episode. When Charlton Heston walked onto the set, everyone kow-towed in deference. One of the handful of great leading men of the Fifties and Sixties, he received the respect he deserved

Ronald Reagan was a hunk his whole life....from his teenage years to his retirement. A real man.

FReeper ladies love real men! Not metrosexualized nancy girls who would be apoplectic at the thought of getting their hands dirty.

Thank you very much for pinging your list  :-)

 Thank You

Also, please be advised that because I'm a male stoat, I will naturally be more inclined to post pictures of ladies when they're referenced here.  Please don't let that stop others from posting pics of gents if you feel that they will add to the thread :-)
