Under Obamacare, maple syrup will be considered a drug and therefore heavily regulated.

“Canada is the biggest producer of maple syrup and the United States is the biggest consumer.”

And Vermont is the largest U.S. producer of maple syrup.

So I guess the canucks saved us some research money!

Sucking the sap of a plant... I guess if you eat enough maple syrup you turn into a big fat aphid, which is a sort of symbol of a Demonrat voter, living off the production of other organisms:

I’ve heard that some “Vermont Maple Syrup” is actually imported from Quebec.

It is against Vermont State Law to label Canada’s or other US state’s pure maple syrup with a State of Vermont Pure Maple Syrup label.

If syrup is a mixture of Vermont maple syrup and another state’s or country’s syrup it must be labeled as such on the container. You will see many containers labeled as just plain Pure Maple Syrup which is lawful, but what the standards are or where it comes from is questionable.

I did a little checking and VT is the largest producer among U.S. states by a large margin, but Canada makes 70% of the world’s maple syrup. The sort of generic maple syrup sold in supermarkets here (and sitting in my fridge as we speak) is from Canada, and it’s really good.

I can't tell the diff between VT and Canadian quite frankly.

Last year we stopped at a roadside sugar shack in NH ... struck up a pleasant convo with the two old gents who were boiling down the sap. They poured us a half-gallon right from the tap. Charged us $32. which was the going rate.

Some time later, opened it to use it and discovered it was very watery....it hadn't been boiled down enough....tastes OK though. Thought I was doing good supporting a local.

Live Free or Die you tourists! LOL

It's been an early run and seems to be maintaining.

My wife says that would warrant assassination.

But she's not the ones with all the guns. Although she can shoot, she doesn't like to.

But then again, I do like maple syrup, just not as much of it as she uses.
