A "good" organization would have alerted the authorities and allow the claims of abuse to be investigated. It's unclear but as far as I can tell they kept tabs on suspected abusers instead of revealing them to the police.
These files are decades old. In those days this stuff was always hidden and handled internally.
They are a good organization made up of good people. Like anyone else they are not perfect but thats hardly the organizations fault.
They get sued no matter what. They are forced by the courts to allow openly gay men to be scout leaders.
