I just ripped a 65 minute DVD this past weekend on my Dell Optiplex 3.4 GHz P4. I don't remember the exact times but believe it was no longer than 15 minutes.

I just picked up a AMD Phenom(TM) X4 965 quad-core processor [3.4GHz, 2MB L2 + 6MB L3 shared, up to 4000MT/s] with 8GB RAM running a 64 operating system and am amazed at the improvement over my old system. I stayed away from the i7’s because I heard some of them had defective motherboards that they are refusing to fix. The speeds working with video and pictures are greatly improved with the quad-core.
