It’s hysterical how narrow minded you are... by your logic humans should all be exterminated because there are a few really terrible ones that give the entire race a bad name (with or without bad parents).
Pit bulls are just like any other dog... trained well and they’re amazing. They get a bad rap from those who have trained them as fighting dogs....
I found my pit under a house in new orleans... fearful, hungry and beautiful. She plays well with others and has never been aggressive with humans or other dogs (loves cats, too). I see many pits at the dog park I go to and have never seen an instance of unprovoked aggression. My landlord banned pits at his apartments until he met mine.
Studies show that the jaw of the Pit Bull is in proportion to its size and is no different than any other breed of dog. There is no evidence that any kind of “locking mechanism” exists in the American Pit Bull Terrier.
According to the American Temperament Test Society, Pit Bulls pass the test with flying colors. In fact, the Pit Bull scores 82% or more. The success of Pit Bulls in this series of tests proves they are not naturally mean or violent.

It's hysterical how ignorant you are about statistics. Have you ever heard of a poll being freeped? This is somewhat similar. These tests are administered to dogs that are brought to this group by their owners to be tested. Any chance you noticed how large the number of tested pits was compared to other breeds? Apply some thought - why would the average owner bring their Yorkie or Carin or collie to these people? It is reasonable to expect they have observed something they are concerned about. Perhaps the dog has already acted aggressively and they want independent verification.
OTOH, the owner of a pit bull (right along with rotties I'll bet) is much more likely to have the dog tested even if no aggression has been displayed. Pit bull apologists are constantly harping about the bias - do tell how it would not apply here. So get the picture - it is completely reasonable to conclude that many of the other breeds are skewed towards agression, and that conversly the tested pit bulls are a more representative sample - and yet nearly 2 out of 10 dogs still failed!
Tell you what - Chet99 can go ahead and keep on posting articles about people killed or mauled by pits. You go right ahead and get some equal time by posting all of the articles about the same occurrences involving dachshunds. After all they are MUCH more aggressive according to your source. Should be a slam dunk.

very few Breed Specific regs stop with just Pitbulls...nearly anyone I’ve seen includes most Molassers
haven’t seen any data for the past decade but until then Rotts were mankillers at a rate of around twice that of Pits from 1981-1998
there is no doubt that working class guard dogs are more likely to kill than say a Yorkie although ankle biters have killed infants
People have to use common sense...big male working class dogs of all types take a lot more care and caution than Labs and Malteses...
I think lapdog peoples just don’t like guard dogs.
Aside from hunting dogs, I’ve never had anything but guard dogs...and if one does something dangerous to friends or family....I will kill it.
I bet these freaky folks here don’t like that either.
