Victory Christian Fellowship, a.k.a., 422CHURCH.COM, has made a huge move to a much larger facility, during this recession, in order to be more accessible to meet the growing needs of people. At a time many are cutting back Victory is advancing. Pastor Ed Crenshaw observes, Sure, it was a risk for us, but God often calls people of faith to step up during risky times to meet the needs of people.
The move is to a much larger facility on the first floor of the J.P. Mascaro & Sons building at 2650 Audubon Road, off Highway 422 at the Trooper exit. Pat Mascaro, President, J.P. Mascaro & Sons, remarked, I really like the idea of having a church in this building I told them they need to use this great facility in as many ways as they can to meet the needs of this Church Moving Larger to Meet Needs community.
Mascaro invested a considerable amount of money converting the first floor into this contemporary, attractive church facility. I see it as an investment in the community, Mascaro commented. Mr. Mascaro echoed something already in our vision, states Crenshaw. We are looking at meeting the needs of people in as many ways as possible, and this new building really makes sense when you see it from that perspective.
The following is a schedule of those ways Victory is seeking to meet the needs of the community in the next few months:
Employment Seeking Workshop Start Sunday, Feb 21st , at 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Marriage Workshop Saturday, February 27th from 9:00 to 4:30 PM Total Money Makeover (Dave Ramsey) Saturday, March 13th, 1:00 to 6:00 PM Alpha Starts Sunday, February 14th, 6:30 to 8:30 PM Child Care Center Opening June, 2010 Parenting Teenagers Wednesday evenings in March (see website for details)
Finances and family are top on the list of felt needs among people in this area. We are opening our doors and our hearts to meet those needs, Crenshaw pronounced. Pastor Crenshaw invites everyone to an Open House on February 18th from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM to see their new facility and find out more about these ministries. their old website was too small?
I have not heard of them...guess I will visit their website....
No, the church is going by 422CHURCH.COM. They moved to a larger building. That is in the article.
When the economy gets better I won’t doubt if many of them stop attending. If your laid off and not making money anywhere except unemployment what better place to goto on Sunday then Church, at least it doesn’t cost anything, and they could use all the prayers they can get, and support they can get. But once they get back to working, a lot of them want to go play and spend that extra money. Eventually they just forget about going to church or just don’t care about church anymore.
