You probably have the idea that I want the government to step in and ban perfume, nothing could be farther from the truth. I just want this discussed so those who wear these strong scents will realize that they are difficult for some of us to live around. It is more than just a dislike, the scents cause a physical reaction that we are unable to control and all we can do is move away. I am not shy about telling people that they have overdone the perfume and they should think about going to wash it off. It is either that or I change seats. If I have bought a paid for a seat I don't think I should have to give it up because someone beside me smells so strong that I cannot breathe.

Fair enough. Voluntary courtesy, or even employer mandated courtesy on a case by case basis is fine with me. I just don’t want the goverment banning perfume, then deodorant, then soap, and so on.
