IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) -- Police in Iowa City accused a 77-year-old man they arrested on traffic charges earlier this year of swallowing his hidden marijuana stash while seated in a squad car.
Authorities served an arrest warrant on misdemeanor marijuana charges Thursday on Howard Switzer, and later released him on his own recognizance.
Police said they observed Switzer making an illegal left turn on Jan. 31 and arrested him for driving with a revoked license.

Elderly stoners hiding from their grandchildren and smoking dope behind the maintenance building of their retirement commune.
Like they did back in high school in '68.
I live close enough to there to know this could only happen in Iowa City — and is par for the course. (OK, I live in Scott County, but that’s close enough to know that Iowa City/Coralville is Hippie Central.)
Like they did back in high school in '68.
Ummm...someone 77 years old would have graduated fron high school in the 1940s. I graduated in 1969 and never heard of anyone using dope at that time., beer yes, dope no.
Expect more and more stories like these as the 1960’s leftist pukes age.
What were once considered the wise years they will tear down and reduce to ridicule as they did everything else that is part of American culture.
Uhmm .. You're kidding, Right?
I graduated around the time that you did and LSD, Mary Jane, MDA, Mescaline, etc. etc. was Everywhere!
Rock concerts were in full force and Drugs were too.
Geeze .. Ever hear of Woodstock or maybe Monterey?
You say you graduated from high school “around that time.” Do you mean in the ‘70s? If so, I can understand it. My brother graduated in ‘72 and MJ had hit the schools by then, but in 1969, no. I didn’t hear about Woodstock until the movie about it came out a couple years later.
Graduated in 68.
Went to school in South Florida.
It is very hard to admit sins of your past. To this day I will not fess up to some things.
Those things are far behind us.
We have a mind that allows us to choose.
As a youngster I was a liberal. Then I learned of conservertism.
I may be dating myself but Carter was that turning point. Worst ever, mmmm, until Obama.
I think that speaks to how quickly things were changing back then when I graduated just three years later.
Exactly.
When I graduated H.S. in 73 not one of my schools 100 grads went into the military, not immediately anyway.
I did not know anyone who was drafted and, though I had to register for selective service, never had any concern about it nor did my parents.
I'm pretty sure folks your age, or even graduates from 1971, cannot say the same.
