Regarding distilled beverages, despite having the means to do so, I could never bring myself to drink the really top shelf stuff that goes for hundreds of dollars a bottle. My guilty pleasures are mostly limited to Patron tequila (about $65 a bottle) and the occasional ice wines ($30-40 a bottle) that I might serve as a dessert wine after a Thanksgiving dinner or something. As for wine, I normally stick to the $15 a bottle pricepoint.
Even if you are a connoisseur, is it really worth it to pay so much money for any kind of booze?
Quality will cost ‘ya, and in my case, a bottle will last several years before it is finally finished. Its nice to have something special available when I'm in the mood for a treat.
Dittos on the cider, & "perry" (pear cider) as well.

I am allergic to alcohol. I could have a stroke from too much. I can have a little, but I limit myself to one drink.
Having said that, since my limitations are so extreme, I do not waste my time on less than the very best, if i drink at all.
