It doesn’t say whether or not he is going to boot camp at Parris Island, or OCS, in Quantico. He wouldn’t qual on the pistol at PI, that would only happen at his MOS school, depending upon what job he gets. OTOH, if he’s going to OCS, he won’t qual with the pistol until he gets commissioned, and goes to TBS. Undoubtedly, though, he will receive the finest firearms....er, weapons training that our Nation has to offer. Then, if he ever has to face an unpleasant situation as the past one, hopefully there will be two cartridges to the center mass, and a little pink mist on the wall behind the intruder.
