Someone suggested installing it with Windows XP on a USB thumb drive to distribute. Someone said that will not work.
I thought about a maybe sending it out with LINUX WINE which can emulate Windows XP.
Getting the people to upgrade to Win 7 Pro or Win 7 Ultimate with virtualization is not an ideal solution. Trying to get some to load XP on Win 7 64-bit and get free Windows VM. If their CPU is not optimized for virtualization it is a problem.
I wish I could put a Java Jar wrapper or something.
Please no "buy a Mac" or "get LINUX" suggestions. Thanks.
What’s missing from the home version of Windows 7 that is causing your problem.
What about making the application a vmware appliance?
I have Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit on a new computer at home and have no problems running old apps, even old Win98 apps.
Is this a VB application or C++?
Recompile using a 64 bit box, it’ll run fine.
I use Visual Studio 2008.
