One afternoon in the spring of 2006, for reasons unknown to those who knew him, Mitchell Henderson, a seventh grader from Rochester, Minn., took a .22-caliber rifle down from a shelf in his parents bedroom closet and shot himself in the head. The next morning, Mitchells school assembled in the gym to begin mourning. His classmates created a virtual memorial on MySpace and garlanded it with remembrances. One wrote that Mitchell was an hero to take that shot, to leave us all behind. God do we wish we could take it back. . . . Someone e-mailed a clipping of Mitchells newspaper obituary to MyDeathSpace.com, a Web site that links to the MySpace pages of the dead. From MyDeathSpace, Mitchells page came to the attention of an Internet message board known as /b/ and the trolls, as they have come to be called, who dwell there.
/b/ is the designated random board of 4chan.org, a group of message boards that draws more than 200 million page views a month....

Someone hacked Hendersons MySpace page and gave him the face of a zombie. Someone placed an iPod on Hendersons grave, took a picture and posted it to /b/. Hendersons face was appended to dancing iPods, spinning iPods, hardcore porn scenes. A dramatic re-enactment of Hendersons demise appeared on YouTube, complete with shattered iPod. The phone began ringing at Mitchells parents home. It sounded like kids, remembers Mitchells father, Mark Henderson, a 44-year-old I.T. executive. Theyd say, Hi, this is Mitchell, Im at the cemetery. Hi, Ive got Mitchells iPod. Hi, Im Mitchells ghost, the front door is locked. Can you come down and let me in? He sighed. It really got to my wife. The calls continued for a year and a half.

So king troll is 32, lives with his mother and was molested by not one but four of his relatives? And he is thin and pale, with bird like features?
Shocked. Shocked, I am. I made it to the second page. I gave it up after mom started whining about how his intense emotional pain(presumably from the quad chestering) necessitates his online activities. Shoulda stayed anonymous, dude.
Really? Yea, he was irritating, and certainly not a libertarian, which he claimed to be.
Hey, Rahm - welcome to FR! (And by the way, don't bother visiting - I have shower curtains!) LOL
“Liberal”, not “libertarian.”
‘...Imagine making a post here, and finding SEIU and CBS outside demanding justice.

Re-read rules #1 and #2.
The article goes on - The author makes it look like he cracked the story that could end life as we know it. It’s a story of intrigue, 18 year olds with rolls royces, hackers with piles of money..
Sounds a little over the top.
humblegunner put it succinctly.
Thanks for posting this! How very fascinating.
Women became vilified for being "stay at home" moms (remember when Barbara Bush got booed at, what was it, Bennington?) so they entered the work force. This provided additional income for the government to tax (and, admittedly, additional productivity) and allowed goverment to tax at a higher rate until women had virtually no choice but enter the work force. So, from the age of 6 weeks, children are entrusted to strangers to raise, parents indulge them monetarily to assuage their guilt over spending little time with them, and no one teaches Johhny manners or morals.
Then we have a divorce rate of 50% as women "break free" of the chains of "male domination" (again, granting that some women should divorce, when they are abused mentally or physically). Then the children become pawns in a game of retribution between spouses, making it important to cultivate the child as a "friend" rather than doing the hard and often unpleasant work of parenting.
Then mix in schools more interested in indoctrination than education (from which profession males have been driven because NOW has successfully painted every man that works with children as a potential sexual predator) and you end up with really screwed up young adults. Some work on Wall Street - some becomes sports thugs - some become internet bomb-tossers and, by the grace of god, many still become well-adjusted, moral, ethical adults.
I think it also has a lot to do with the fact that we, as a society, have tried to eliminate any and all pain from our children’s lives by preventing or trying to ease the pain of failure. In school, teachers can’t fail a child. They can barely even correct the child for fear of lawsuits and charges of unfairness of some sort. These children have grown up believing that they can do no wrong and thus have gargantuan egos. And when those narcissistic egos meet the real world, behavior like this ensues. That’s part of it, anyway.
I understand why people want to do this but I really wish they were illegal. As a biker having these at the side of the road when you might need that part of the road to get out of someone who isn’t paying attention’s way could mean I die because of the memorial.
You haven’t been around long enough to understand why having folks like BobJ fall out with JimRob’s editorial direction is a shock to many of us here.
Though you might have heard about it on the TV,? that thing called the SwiftVets and Bob Corsi, remember that?

Unfortunately, I have to disagree. Some of the comments here have gotten very nasty over the past couple of years.
There used to be room here for liberals and many libertarians roamed the site. I think we lost something when we strictly becames a site for “conservatives” to have discussions. Look at the number of times people are confronted because they are “supposedly” going against the owners message or disagree with those on a thread or heaven forbid they are new. It’s a lazy way to try to get rid of a debate opponent.
Conservative values are strong enough to stand up to liberal challenges and to withstand ridiculous or ignorant threads by newbies. The owner is the owner, but that’s my penny’s worth.
The rule here is that they cannot be on the road surface itself (paved, dirt, or otherwise), but can be in the right of way.
