OK- so he’s gay? Do we as (mostly) republicans show prejudice because of that?

Are we the homophobes and racisits they accuse us of being? judging by the comments here, I am not sure

His sex life has never been an issue, as far as I can tell. and his voting record reflects what the conservatives in his community would have wanted, which is his job.

I have nothing against a conservative gay in our party. I am just against the liberal activists who want to recruit and push homosexual agenda on those who don’t want it for themselves or THEIR CHILDREN.

Disclaimer: I have a family member who is gay and I love her as much always, and I also am extremely happy that she has found a wonderful partner, who I also like very much and welcome into our family.

Here's the problem ~ high ranking but otherwise closeted homosexuals in the Democrat party will attempt to make this guy out to be the typical Republican politician ~ who must be voted against because he's homosexual, and, Oh, BTW, you must also vote against ALL Republicans because they're ALL homosexuals (the trick used with Foley and Craig).

The same stuff went on in Nazi Germany. The big dog gays were sending the little guys to prison camps, and if they didn't come across for the guards, they'd get gassed.

It's how homosexuals play politics, and it doesn't matter if it's just office politics.

I dislike the way he misled his family, but given his voting record in line his constituent’s priorities, maybe it is best to let him sort out his personal demons in private.

BTW: it sounds like you have a very loving family, not too dissimilar from Mr. Cheney’s.

Well, there’s a strong thread of Homophobia running through both parties. It’s just that Dems don’t generally get outed because they control the media.
