I didn't even know who this bobj fellow was so I googled to see some of his past posts. It seems he rants quite a bit about "Palinistas," sort of like I might sometimes have mentioned "Clintonistas" in days gone by. It wasn't a term of love on my part.

I worked with Bob J in the past and it was a good experience. I hope he comes back.

That being said, I thought he was a bit too vociferous in his critiquing of Governor Palin. Not surprised he got suspended, but...

I can't help but wonder why we turn on ourselves so readily. Whether it's Ron Paul or Bob J, I think we're better off realizing that we should work together in areas where we agree, and not spend too much time highlighting our differences. You can't build coalitions that way. That's Just this old fart's opinion, mind you.

Nope..., definitely not a Palin supporter. He has thinly disguised hate for her and all so-called "social conservatives" -- which is another way of saying conservatives who are Christians (they're supposed to shut up and just vote with the fiscal conservatives, doncha know... LOL ...).

BobJ was the original chairman and CEO of FreeRepublic 501(c)4 and to many of us here, an influential figure in developing a rational and defensible conservative philosophy. Mind you when I found FR in late 1998 I was a sophomore in college.

Basically instead of holding old allies close, newer members are talking about cats, fritos, Palin and Ash to deflect any sort of conversation about why people like BobJ and steve-b were recently banned. Bob J is one of us in the bleecher seats or if lucky in the press box... Palin is amongst other things, still just a politician.

There are many reasons to keep good men like BobJ around this joint, there are many reasons to continue to allow the snark from those irrationally entering herd mode. I’m astonished, outright and honest reaction to learning of this turn of events here.

Jim, regards... I’ll just hope you can at very least restore his prior posts, to save the continuity of thread discussions.

No, Bob's not a Palin supporter. I think his critisism of Palin became a little too personal and he tried to egg on the Palin supporters too much. The arguments between he and the Palin supporters started to get kind of nasty so Jim decided to put his foot down. His website, his rules. We all know that.

Here's how this whole thing is going to play out...BobJ will come back and start arguing with Palin folks. Jim will tell him to get lost. Bob will smart off back at Jim. Jim will ban him. Bob will go to an anti-Freeper site and talk bad about Jim. Your standard internet drama.

if you are lost in the woods in the rain, and need to build a fire, a bag of Fritos makes amazingly good kindling.

The oil in the Fritos burns for ages, enough to dry out some sticks and get the fire going.
