(Patti) Smiths guitarist Lenny Kaye was still glowing from the special night. I got to play I Wanna be Your Dog with Iggy! he said. Ive been waiting 40 years to play that. RnR Ping

As the song later descended into chaos, he smashed his mike stand into the iconic, wood-floored stage repeatedly, trying to make a dent. He gave up and hurled the stand at the grand piano.WHAT did the Grand Piano at Carnegie Hall EVER do to HIM, to deserve such ABUSE?
AND while we are on the subject, HOW do these idiots propose we "FREE TIBET"?
Shall we go to WAR with Red China, perhaps?
I say this AS a ROCK MUSICIAN.

Okay, three songs. “The Passenger”, “I Wanna Be Your Dog”...I’m guessing the closer was “Lust for Life”. You gotta finish big.

Paleo snickering here. Wasn't that long ago freeing Tibet was the province of Goldwater, the John Birch Society, and those of us who wanted to engulf the world in a thermonuclear holocaust. Now we got Iggy and Patti and the Beautiful People. Whaddya know.
Tibet, of course, is no nearer freedom unless one counts the dead as free. The musicians are raising money...for what?

Pops three-song set will likely go down in Carnegie Hall history. During I Wanna Be Your Dog, he completely defiled the place. He strutted across the stage in tight black jeans, ass crack fully visible, and then dove into the crowd (nobody caught him). As the song later descended into chaos, he smashed his mike stand into the iconic, wood-floored stage repeatedly, trying to make a dent. He gave up and hurled the stand at the grand piano. To LOL it is....

35 years later and Iggy Pop is still falling off the stage.
Patti Smith is 63??!! Whoa. Could those nights at CBGB's have been that long ago? My, how quickly the time does pass.
