Free trade is one thing. What we have is managed trade.
Also there is our overtaxed, overregulated, and over unionized industrial base that needs to be taken into account.
BTW I agree with you but its not a simple thing.
The industrial base in nonunion, right to work states has been decimated as well, so it’s not all about that.
