TexasCowboy 5th Annual Memorial Shoot

It is time again to start making plans to attend the Annual TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot. Come join us to celebrate the memory this fine Texas gentlemen.

The 5th Annual TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot will be held June 12, 2010, starting at 10:00 a.m. Our range choice this year is Dietz Gun Range, 421 Range Road, New Braunfels. The cost per person will be $10.00 The Dietz Range is where TexasCowboy hosted one of his shoots in 2003.

This year the after party for the shoot will be held at the range. They have a large canopy with picnic benches underneath for us to hang out. The range does not have any items to cook food with, so we are asking that those who are able, to bring along a cooker. Everyone else please bring a side dish or appetizer. Adult beverages are allowed under the canopy (this does not need to be said but I am going to say in anyway – they are not to be opened until all weapons have been cased).

cpdiii has agreed to be our host this year. He will bring, and cook, steaks and shrimp Creole for everyone. I am really looking forward to eating the Creole!

At this time no plans have been made for the Friday evening dinner or Saturday morning breakfast get together. Allegra & I have volunteered to make the sacrifice of a road trip to check out places to eat. One line of thought for dinner is to eat at a German restaurant.

Looks like I might not make it, DRAT!. My knees are gone. right one is bone on bone, and will be replaced, but don't know just when yet. Left one hurts like hell, but X-Rays look OK. Doc (orthopedist) suspects torn meniscus. Had MRI last Wednsday. He's seen it, I haven't and won't for a while, becaue he's going to out of the office the next couple of weeks and had no appointments available until June 3. Might get in sooner if there is a cancellation. (Someone PLEASE get better, or have a baby or something nice that causes you to cancel).

I suspect the "minor repair" will come before the total replacement, which would mean I'd still be recovering at the time of the shoot.

If I can drive, I might come anyway, and just hobble around. :)

Plenty of room for a cooler in the back so you don’t dehydrate:-)

Good luck with the knees, the Mrs goes in for a total replacement on the left side next Tuesday FWIW

Attention Mylife and the Mom

I have a small trailer therefore it will not be any trouble to get all the stuff there. I plan on getting there early that morning and set my stuff up. I will do a little shooting in the morning and start cooking about noon and should have everything ready about 1-PM. Where I may need some help when I start cooking.

The Shrimp Creole and Rice will be made the day before and will just need warming up. I will make it and then put it in my refrigerator the night before the shoot. I have also bought steak and it is now in the freezer. If anyone on this thread likes dead Bambi (venison), I will bring some of that down also. I have about 60 lbs of Bambi in my freezer.

Bring that shotgun of yours. I liked it!!!!

Mom, do we have an approximate head count? The last time we shot at Dietz’s in New Braunsfel I think we had about 15-20?
