I think it is for most who live in that world. Just different manifestations in different people. Does anyone in the entertainment world seem to be caught up in the truly important things in life? No, their entire lives are performance based and on display for all to judge. Stressful and shallow.
I love my anonymous life.
Fame has nothing to do with clinical depression, it can happen in any family...Because no one can see the pain, (like in a broken bone) they cannot begin to know the emotional and mental anguish involved...I overcame it, but you have to do it sometimes a minute at a time, and not look at tomorrow...I can get through this minute, then its I can get through this next minute. Soon with the right medication I can get get through this hour....never look at tomorrow, just surviving this next hour...Its real and in the greater majority of cases, the family is not at fault...It is a real disease, of the brain. They have found a genetic link to depression also. It can run in families...
Pet scans have been used in research of mental disorders and the conclusion is that during exacerbation's of the disease, the pet scan shows portions of the brain that suddenly are not functioning...Medication and having someone to talk to helps some....it can take several years to overcome this problem...been there, done that...its no picnic for those that have it...
They have found the same problem with schizophrenics. Large portions of the brain do not function...
