You mean Mormon "scripture" can label all Christians as "apostates," heart-drifters, "corrupt," not worth joining, and creedally abominable (100% of creeds) -- and that gets a "free pass" from you...180 years of such printed nonsense...and yet a few online threads takes issue with that...and gets a scolding from you?

You missed the entire point. If Mormons were on FreeRepublic spouting that stuff, I would be equally POed with them. However, this is not primarily a religion forum. Ol' Jim allows that, presumably because the Judeo-Christian belief system is a huge part of American conservatism, but our primary purpose here is not to iron out all of the disagreements about scripture. We'd all be better off if we save that for after we've defeated our common enemy, or for discussions that occur outside of FreeRepublic.

What ends up happening here, though, is that we get different factions of people who all hate the leftism infecting our country, but instead of being united in the fight against that, they are at each others' throats over whose religion is the perfect one.

I have seen people argue a point to death on the RF, yet turn around and agree and be united on a news/activism thread.

The division in one area of FR (even the religion forum) does not necessarily carry over into all areas of FR.

They do fr, they denegrate the scriptures, they denegrate ex-mormons, they attack Christian denominations. Some dedicate their whole home pages here on FR for that purpose too.

What good does it do to unite against one enemy, and watch some of the folks you've united with spend eternity with the other enemy?
