Agreed. It is inhumane for whales and elephants because they are so big and the other animals too. Zoos are really pointless.
I also cannot imagine the workplace rules at Sea World. The stinking media is blaming the woman’s pony tail and her failure to follow “protocol.” You have humans trying to do silly tricks and get very close to carnivors. The whale is pissed off and probably just grabbed her to have fun.
They interviewed her sister and she said she loved working with the whales etc etc. It is a circus sideshow. They are doing stupid tricks and just tormenting these animals. I am not a PETA person either but people need to have some compassion. These mammals are a lot like us.
People might say well Sea World provides jobs. Turn it into a water theme park with slides, rollercoasters, etc.
We all know that dogs that are tethered or chained or isolated grow bored, crazy and dangerous, and we fine and/or arrest the humans for animal cruelty.
Animal cruelty when it comes to cats and dogs, why don't the same rules apply to these giant creatures, such as whales and elephants? Why is it okay to capture them and keep them in tiny enclosures?
If someone is walking down the street and a dog appears out of nowhere and attacks, then the dog is a danger.
If you are in a whale tub o'water and the whale drowns you, that's your fault especially when you know the whale has killed twice before.
I do agree with you about the money. It's sickening.
I agree with the author, too. Whales should be in the oeans, free to swim with abandon.

Agreed. Poor whales, elephants or other animals confined are locked up would go crazy. It is cruel.
And what about the employees doing these “tricks” with the whales? Well we only lost three so far.
Release the animals there and the circuses. Zoos are only marginally better. It is like being in jail. Sad.
Yes, I understand this. However, there is far too much attempt in the world today to proclaim animals as equal to human beings. I also stated that I favor GOOD care and treatment of animals. I am an animal lover. ;-)
I love animals also. However I feel that large, higher-order mammals aren’t meant to be cooped up. It’s not what God intended for them and while it might be pleasing to humans it sure can’t be pleasing for the animal.
On this, I agree with you.....and that goes for any animal. The only exceptions would be where excellent research was taking place with the goal of helping the their species (or ours) and learning.
I agree, and to put the money ahead of the safety of the trainers is also wrong.
This is, therefore, imo, nothing but evil. All about greed and entertainment, with no concern for trainers OR whales.
I wouldn't go to SeaWorld or give them one red cent, ever, after this.

If it’s free to maul humans and jump and splash people, perhaps solitary confinement is in order. Or perhaps it should be free to roam the oceans of the world and eat polar bears and innocent little seals. On second thought, we oughtta hunt down all those savage orcas and make them into saddle shoes.
Any animal with beady eyes and a smile that big has got to be up to no good. That’s what I think.

Come to think of it neither were in their natural environment. So a human was lunch for once. That’s what happens when one swims with the fishes.
Never got close enough to one to find out.
