But.. but.. certain leftist ecoterror groups would have you believe these are NOBLE creatures.

What a horrendous thing to do to any wild animal-—keep them in captivity for decades. I cried at the Sea World show when we took our kids there. I cannot go to the zoo anymore either. It isn’t right.

I surfed into a CNN interview w/ a trainer from a public aquarium in Georgia.
First, I thought I heard Blitzer say this was the third person killed by this whale. It could have been the third person ever killed in the US.
When Blitzer asked what next (as in - do we put down this whale?) I heard the trainer say we have to work on the relationship with the whale and give it more love.

They are called ‘killer whales’ for a reason.

It should be noted that there is a good reason they aren’t called cuddly sea puppies.

From the article I have the impression it was more misguided play than viscous attack on the whales part.
To: JoeProBono
The most relevant fact of all is that there is virtually no record (other than theme park incidents like today) of killer whales actually killing humans.

“Ah, it’s a common fact there Normy....’ I don’t want to sound like “Cliff Klaven’’ here but it should be noted that ‘killer whales’’ aren’t whales. They’re dolphins, the largest of their kind and they kill, or rather they hunt. And I’ve always felt any animal, especially such large, powerful and intelligent creatures such as these, who’s home is the open ocean, don’t belong cooped up in a glorified fish-tank performing tricks. I’m sorry the trainer was killed.

We anthropomorphize our relationship with animals. We can’t help it. But the animal relates to us as the animal, whether it’s a dog, cat, or killer whale.
Who can imagine how a whale views us. We may see its reactions as trust or affection, or anger, but It could be operating purely on conditioning.

Four additional facts: Killer Whales like other dolphins kill other species for fun and, perhaps territorial control. (Bottle nosed males also rape other dolphin and porposes to death, but that's not relavent here.)
Killer whales are apex predators. The eat whales, rays, sharks (including great whites), seals and pretty much anything else they fancy in the water.
They are smart, i mean really smart. They have been known to take prey on ice flows and even shallow beach waters.
These are playful social animals that live in packs (pods) with dominant social orders. This is one reasons why they are called "Sea Wolves".

Doesn't this whole incident sort of remind anybody of Obama?
He seems like a nice guy, kind of playful and harmless. The minute you forget what he is, Obama puts his teeth into you and pulls you under the water.
