Most of the problem people have with SoTS is the “Uncle Remus” character. Particularly, in his interactions with the white people on the plantation, and in the disparity of living conditions. The thing most people forget though, is that things were really like that; while others protest that it romanticizes things too much (which may be true, since it is Disney). However, some go so far as to call Brer Rabbit racist too, even though Brer Rabbit (who is black) is constantly outwitting Fox and Bear, who are white.
