Wait a second, didn’t Vietnam (among other things) cost him a second term, after he had won the previous election in a historic landslide? Remind me how it made him “richer”.

He was a major shareholder in Brown & Root which became part of Halliburton. They built all the bases in SE Asia including a huge port in Nam. LBJ made tons of money of Vietnam. Tons of defense contractors where in TX including Bell, North American/General Dynamics plus others. LBJ got a “piece” of everything.
