Having worked for a female 0-8 (Major General) in the USMC, I will just say that your suggestion is without merit.

I started this thread as an intermediate compromise between those who oppose women being in the military and those who turn a blind eye to women in the military.
So I thought of this: limiting the highest commissioned officer rank to O-6 (Colonel / Navy Captain), as a compromise.
