Jeff Bridges: Barack Obama is my champion
metro.co.uk ^ | Feb. 19, 2010 | Elaine Lipworth

Jeff Bridges, 60, is tipped to win an Oscar for his portrayal of a fading music star in Crazy Heart (out today). It’s the fourth time he’s been up for the gong. Married for 32 years and a father of three, Bridges is a devoted social activist and was one of the founders of the End Hunger Network.

How much fun was it making Crazy Heart?

You sing, play the guitar and drink a lot. I can’t think of a film I had more fun on. It was a ball – and I sang, which was great. I’ve been singing and writing music since I was a kid so it was a big gift.

How did you relate to your character, Bad Blake, who is always drunk?

I know what it’s like, I’ve done it many times.

But you have the drinking under control?

I think so. Sometimes you can get too much in the groove of the booze but I feel best when I’m healthy and not drinking too much.

This guy’s been a goofball his whole life. That he thinks a community agitator with a 15-minute senate career who is now America’s first affirmative action president is his “champion” tells you all you need to know about Jeff Bridges.

Still, I’ll always fondly remember watching ‘Sea Hunt’ every week.

If you look up the word “oxymoron” in the dictionary, it might offer as an instructive example the words “Hollywood intellectual”. Not all actors are stupid; but theirs is a rare profession for which a lack of mental capacity is not considered a handicap.

Agreed. Living in a fantasy world doesn’t help, either.

Did anyone actually read the interview before posting ?

He said some very interesting things about his life, he definitely isn't your typically Hollywood type slime bag.

I have no problem with what he said about Obama as he is a committed activist, (don't agree with him) he wasn't in your face being a snarling flaming asshole like most Hollywood libtards.

That alone is the reason I canceled Netflix. I am sick of these stupid people. They are shills for the leftists, only because they think they will never be subjected to the spread around misery.

He is a whore just like all of the Whorellywood elites.

Too bad. Always liked his acting. Very natural.

“He’s a talented actor, but intellectually deficient.”

Most people in the entertainment industry are intellectually deficient. If you show a modicum of common sense you don’t work.

Save your money! My neighbor is an Academy member so we got this Crazy Heart dvd many weeks ago for her “voting consideration” - awful movie - Kind of like going down to 5th and Broadway in Los Angeles and watching the drunks for 2 hours. Crazy Heart tries to ape Tender Mercies and falls on its face. But then Tender Mercies has Robert Duvall. The best actors have always been conservatives

It is very cool that he has a photo of the first time he met his wife, and that he carries it with him every where he goes.

Shame that the article is mostly about his marriage, but all of the comments will be about how people won’t watch his movies specifically or movies in general based on one sentence.

“Barack Obama is my champion; I am rooting for him – he said we can eradicate childhood hunger by 2015.”

Ok Jeffy baby, if your soooo concerned about ending childhood hunger how many of YOUR millions have YOU donated to the cause?

How many millions has Obama donated of HIS OWN money?

Yeah I thought not.

Then...

STFU!!!
