The regular word for "cow" in Spanish is vaca (as in the name of the explorer Cabeza de Vaca), but according to my Harrap's Spanish-English dictionary, "cow" as a pejorative term for a woman would be bruja or pecora. The literal meaning of bruja is "witch." My guess is that pecora [accent on the "e"] is from the Latin word pecus (Gen. pecoris),
