I have read on other forums that beard man is locally known as “Vietnam Tom” is a former Marine, and is somewhat well known for not taking crap from anyone — including cops.
It he is 67 now, he would have been in his 20s when Vietnam was really bad. No doubt the man has issues. Possibly flashbacks, who knows?
