Well i bought some 3 year old at while foods,,,, thought i was the man. It went bad within 2 weeks. All i could think was,,, they store it 3 years,, and sell it with 2 weeks to go??? I think what happens is that as long as it's stored in the original airtight container it's safe. For instance, the original wax covered wheel. But if the store cuts it up and repackages it, that's all she wrote. The shelf life was just destroyed.
