Depends upon how one defines success and failure. For the left, success is the creation of generations of morons, totally dependent upon Big Brother and the democrat party because as students, they have learned nothing but how to put a condom on a cucumber.

Failure depends on your goals. If you think public schools and universities are designed to educate the young to become intelligent, thinking adults, then they fail miserably.

If you think public schools and universities are designed to indoctrinate the young to serve the collective and be capable of learning repetitive tasks and perform those taks without much rational thought, then they are very successful.

The American education system is not designed to turn the masses into intellectuals. It is designed to make them productive workers in the collective factories, cubicles, and farms.

Yes. Public education is now Ayers based & has little to do with academics. It’s “social justice” teaching now.

Public schools are designed to ensure that your children fail.

I don’t think they are designed to fail. I think it is just typical bureaucratic incompetency that does not know how to succeed, and can not get a good grasp on where it is. If they actually set out to fail, they would probably fail in that endeavor and actually end up succeeding.

The high school i teach at is very successful. I get 76k per off at 3, 14 weeks vacation and no one notices what a crummy teacher i am.
works for me, i would not send any normal kids to my school.

Designed to dumb down the population is more like it. It's been going on for sixty years. See the case laid out piece by piece using US gubmint documents gained through the Freedom of Information Act in a book called The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America by Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt. This book will open your eyes like you will not believe.....
