“I’ve been involved with this breed for more than 35 years”

I envy you.
I’ve always wanted one but there are no breeders in my area and precious few show ever up in rescue and there’s such a long waiting list to adopt them that my odds of getting one are slim and none.

There were never even any entered in the local large annual AKC all breed show.

Once, back in the late 80s, a guy showed up at the all breed with his BT and generously allowed me to play with and hug his pet.

It was a wonderful yet heartbreaking moment I’ll never forget.

So...I’ve had Dobermanns for 35 years, instead.

[and yes, amazingly, I am still alive, whole and and un-mauled]....;]

I've been involved with the breed going back to the 1970's. Always a pleasure to introduce bull terriers to people who have only read about them but haven't actually seen one ... they're fairly rare. Responsible BT breeders prefer it that way and actually cringe when BT's get highlighted in some way, such as the Budweiser commercials featuring Spuds Mackenzie. More recently Target stores has featured a BT in some of their ads. Like all terriers a BT is a lot of dog, especially as a puppy. They are high energy and don't really mellow out until they're at least three ... with some taking even longer. They all have distinct personalities and are real characters with a impish sense of humor.
