I’ve been on the internet & in forums since 1993. I develop software. I work with users.
If WE want to increase our influence, the interface can be improved.
I really do not care about my personal learning curve. I care about “your moms” learning curve.

If WE want to increase our influence, the interface can be improved. We brought down Dan Ratherbiased just fine with this interface. What success have you had with your software?

i think the point is that FR has done just dandy since it’s inception. it works fine just the way it is. you being here less than a month wouldn’t know that, so some of us “old-timers” will clue you in to that fact : )

What's so confusing about this?
Most visitors to Free Republic are attracted to our very popular (and, warning: addictive) conservative news and discussion forum which can be found by
clicking here or following any of the forum links in the sidebars."
Every website has a learning curve, this one is no different...becoming familiar with this forum as well as any other website/forum requires a bit of a time commitment on the user's part. We're not a website that caters to everyone, we cater to people of a particular philosophy. We're big enough and have made enough of an impact in the past that people know who we are. We have no interest in playing nice-nice with middle-of-the-roaders. Hell, if DUmmies can come on here and figure out how to use the forum, anyone can. No need for a daycare center...

If you've got something to sell, sell it to the guys who own the place - Jim Robinson and John Robinson. Their screen names are their real names.
(If they happen to be reading this, personally I think this is the easiest site of its type to use - "Don't fix what aint broke!")

Wait a minute, my mom’s dead. Should I be insulted?
Seriously, duuuude, I think you have grossly overestimated our interest in this subject.

I was born in 1933...I read instructions...I observe..and I ALWAYS remember that this forum is privately owned. I am a guest.
I jumped in and grew a thicker skin after lurking a long time.
I don’t tell the owner how to run his site.
