I wouldn’t make a single change to that list, except make Dallas number 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2, also.

As a Dallas Cowboys fan, I must sadly agree. The Cowboys are a marquee franchise in U.S. Sports, and as such an enormous amount of attention is paid to them. They are better than average today, but haven’t been extraordinary in almost fifteen years.

Carolina Panthers over rated? Who on earth rates them highly? Dale Jr hasn’t had much success lately, but his 18 career wins put him at number 10 among all active drivers.

*sigh* The Landry/Schram/Staubach days are just a sweet memory.

Agree, but I would also add the dismal Washington Redskins and the equally dismal Baltimore Orioles. Neither has put a winning product on the field in years.

I am glad you did not include the 2009-2010 Red Wings. (or the post Scotty teams)

I had to read twice to make sure you are not Coach Dat Nguyen!

That’s a little hard on the NFC East. I don’t see how the Panthers could ever be overrated.

As for some golden oldies....you can’t forget the Atlanta Braves of the 90’s.They won something like 14 straight division titles and didn’t get out of the first round of the playoffs most years!

What - no New York Rangers?

Ummmmm.......don’t be so hard on the Cavaliers. None of the teams in the NBA play REAL team basketball anymore. It is a “see MEEEEE do MY thing” league littered with thugs and I don’t see it changing anytime soon.
That ties into why Gonzaga is so successful. They play a team game and don’t need any NBA “superstars” to get the job done.

What - no New York Rangers? In order to be over rated, a team must be highly rated. Aside from their own fans, who rates the Rangers high?

Hey, give Kentucky basketball a break! A decade of an incompetent affirmative action coach destroyed one of the nations most successful and storied programs. It takes a little time to rebound into the Kentucky of old. A coach was finally hired on the basis of ABILITY rather than color and the program is making strides. So stick around.

How about Danica Patrick? She gets all kinds of press and rarely, if ever, wins a race. Somewhat akin to that little hottie female tennis player a few years back who never won a tournament.

If the Yankees hadn't won the World Series last season, they would have made this list.
As good as they are, they are still overly hyped.

Now that Kentucky has a cheater of a coach ( he left town just before sanctions hit... again ), they might do better for awhile.

Yeah, they are overrated. The sportscasters always overate the Cowboys and then bitch cause they didn't live up to their expectations. It's a game the sportscasters play to make news. A 24 hour sports channel can struggle for news from time to time. OH, just like CNN, PMSNBC and FOX.
