If you are a conservative, I think you are getting suckered by a left wing sympathizer and Barnum and Bailey money grubbing huckster when you listen to Savage.

I don’t think its a matter of religion. Liberal Jews are just insanely biased against anyone or anything republican or conservative. Among my friends in the Orthodox Jewish world, the opposite holds true - we are mostly conservative and we feel more in common with a religious Christian than the godless left by a long shot. I believe it has a lot to do with the fact that we have common cause in trying to preserve and strengthen morality, decency and families.

I don’t know many conservative Jewish folks around Boca. Most are secular. I know that conservative Jews in NYC would be much more active in Republican circles than their secular counterparts. Do you think the majority of the religious Jews will be Palin supporters? I see a LOT of anti-Christian prejudice in the reactions around here.

I think you all are correct. As nice of a person that she may be I do not think she has the “electability” right now. Maybe in 2016 or 2020 but not in 2012.

One big difference between Reagan and Sarah. Reagan fulfilled both his elected terms as governor.

Say what you what about Sarah.

She chose to be the designated lighting rod. imo a lot of non political dem voters with hopes for their own daughters will look to this public crucifixion of a decent lady and draw conclusions...

...and they won’t be favorable for Dem candidates or the
lie of the day’ their useful dupes in the media will pedal.

“Michael Savage is jewish and from New York. I live around Boca Raton Florida and I assure you Jewish people reflixively don’t like Sarah Palin because she is Christian. And I am putting that mildly.”

And Jimmy Carter wasn’t a Christian? Bill Clinton wasn’t a Christian? Obama wasn’t a Christian (of course that will bring out the “Obama is a Muslim!” chorus)?

This is unbelieveable. Jews won’t vote for Palin because she is a Christian even though they vote for every Christian dem that comes down the line.

Again, this is what passes for thinking among some Palin supporters.

Put simply, lil mikey sewage is a delusional, elitist idiot who has inexplicably managed to gull otherwise rational people into buying his shtick at face value.

Can’t be very Christian if they say they “hate” Sarah Palin.

I know what I’m talking about and have heard the conversations about Palin among Jewish people in South Florida many times during the election. I know this from actual experience in my area. You are in Wyoming. With no due respect, what the heck do you know about it?

Mike does NOT hate Sarah Palin. Essentially all he said was that she does not have what it takes--and I agree. As she is going, how can she be taken seriously? Her speeches are rambling in structure, full of platitudes you can get from any office-seeker, and when she is asked a serious question, (such as illegal immigration) she equivocates. A Populist to the max. That is what the man said.

As far as his life off-air goes, are his drinking/eating habits any worse than Rush, whom most of us admire and believe? He screams alll right, and usually what he is screaming about are the very things going on that we all hate & fear PLUS wish & pray that someone would voice these: he fills the bill. I get mad at him frequentlly but still listen . He is the only one talking boldly about these things--what other talkers do?? Who else yells about the ridiculous, unmilitary and insane ROE our fighting men & women are forced to obey?? Savage does it!!!

“So what is wrong with country music? What, now If a candidate looks or sounds like a country music player they are stupid?”

Someone better tell Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood because they are doing well, making money and winning awards. Nothing wrong with Country Music.

My question to Savage is well then who? I know you, Savage went for Mitt Witt Romney, in 2008 like every other conservative radio talker, who would give Obama a second term with his support.

If Savage was mad at her supporting McCain that is another thing. The stupid republican party as you called it wants Mitt Wiit who is not electable.

And so Savage is a Mitt Witt. I agree you have to be a realist. Thus who else is more qualified? Obviously you have nobody else, right now.

Welcome Back, Dad

I've been trying to convince my fellow conservatives that they have been wasting their time in a fruitless quest for a new Ronald Reagan to emerge and lead our party and our nation. I insisted that we'd never see his like again because he was one of a kind. I was wrong!
Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my Dad reborn; only this time he's a she. And what a she!
This was Ronald Reagan at his best -- the same Ronald Reagan who made the address known now solely as "The Speech," which during the Goldwater campaign set the tone and the agenda for the rebirth of the traditional conservative movement that later sent him to the White House for eight years and revived the moribund GOP.
Welcome back, Dad, even if you're wearing a dress and bearing children this time around.

~Michael Reagan, talk show host and son of President Ronald Reagan

Funny how many of the newbies just happen to be anti-Palin. How’s the weather in Chicago?

Comparisons of Reagan and Palin fail to note that Reagan's real strength and authenticity lay in his deep understanding of the principles and ideas of America's Founders. This meant that somewhere along the line he had studied the writings and underlying documents by which liberty was obtained.

His easily-delivered cautions about limited government were not "talking points" or platform-based recitations. Those cautions came out of a mind and heart that were in sync with Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, and the other geniuses who structured the limited government of the U. S. Constitution to protect liberty, and to bar tyrants from oppressing the people.

Reagan's eloquent speeches about a "shining city" were not mere high-sounding rhetoric, they were about deeply-held beliefs, founded in understanding of and devotion to ideas.

While it is admirable for current Republican leaders to quote Reagan, or to claim his philosophy as their own, second-hand embracing of the positions he took is not enough to qualify any candidate to lead America back to "peace, liberty, and safety" (Jefferson's First Inaugural).

No, that candidate must demonstrate his/her own study and understanding of the principles underlying the United States Constitution, and that only can be acquired by study, reflection, and a deep commitment. The threats are so great, they are presented in such subtle ways, and the enemies of freedom are so intent on imposing their own deeply-held counterfeit ideas that a surface belief in what is referred to as "limited government," "tax cuts," "reductions in spending," and "getting government out of our lives," while they may be attention-getting and handy for speeches, will not be sufficient to hold the line in defense of liberty.

Something more is needed. Reagan had it, and any person who wishes to emulate his leadership cannot do it without submitting himself/herself to the same depth of study as Reagan.

When that person emerges who can demonstrate the discipline and dedication to ideas which Reagan did, then the counterfeit ideas of opponents will not be able to prevail in public debate, and America may once again be able to be that "shining city" or "beacon of liberty" for the world.

Has Reagan's Young Americans for Freeedom produced such a candidate somewhere? Has any conservative think tank exposed the Founders' ideas to someone who can now articulate them and demonstrate leadership?

Ok I see later on he gives us his suggestions....Jim Inhofe, Richard Shelby, John Cornyn, Jeff Sessions are all fine, but I haven’t heard them running. Plus, we shall see where they go. Savage didn’t found any movement. I’d rather have Bachmann run, but Palin is equally great.

So the Jewish vote, which was apparently in play, briefly, for McCain against Obama, was not affected negatively by Sarah Palin’s outspoken Christianity? I don’t think you can give me a straight-faced “no” to that question.
