No.I think it looks more like an F-80 shooting star.The F-80 was obsolete as soon as the mig 15 arrived on the scene because of its straight wings.

With an observation plane at upper right, the Boeing 747-8 took off for its first flight Feb. 8, in Everett, Wash. With the airline industry still recovering from its steepest dive in the postwar era, it may be some time before Boeing's largest plane turns a profit. Ted S. Warren/AP

I dunno.

Instead of all the confusion engendered by this intangible notion of a "decimal" point, isn't it easier to simply remember that there are:

25 links in a rod;

4 rods in a chain;

10 chains per furlong; and

8 furlongs per mile?

Thus, for instance, by recollecting these simple relationships, we can remember that 1 rod x 4 furlongs equals one acre.

What could be more simple?

*smirk*

Just calibrate speedometers in Furlongs per Fortnight. That should simplify everything!

:-)

Speedometers is for city kids kids what flunked cyphering in school.

Fenceposts are (most of the time) set about a rod apart. So every 320 fenceposts you count means you've gone more or less a mile.

Just think of it. In your dotage you can derive simple satisfaction from bouncing your granddaughter on your knee and reciting to her how Peter Piper picked 9,092.18 cc's of pickled peppers...

It's just not right I tell ya.
