Keep this in mind the next time you hear someone blubbering about having to put their dog down. Dogs are animals, not people.

I had to put all 3 of my dogs down in 2007. 2 from old age, 1 from cancer at 5 y/o. I shouldn’t be upset by that at all?

I blubbered a good bit that year, and not in the slightest bit embarrassed to say so. Doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten the difference between dogs and people, though. That’s just silly.

Show of hands, dog lovers, how many of you have forgotten that dogs are animals, not people?

Any time you have to put down a dog that is a family companion, it is painful. You have to have a cold heart to think that doing that and grieving is wrong.

I only had to put one dog down that didn't affect me emotionally...
