That is what I told my wife just the other day, shift it into neutral and shut off the engine, if the engine is not running it can't keep accelerating (unless you going down hill).

She said she would probably just panic.

Something I thought of this morning, we are seeing a lot more Toyota troubles in the last few months. I am not a conspiracy kind of guy, but I wounder if it has anything to do with the UAW, and Government Motors. Just a thought.

While you were thinking it, I was talking to a co-worker about it. It's not far fetched at all.

It appears that Toyota themselves are coming clean about the Prius problems so who knows?

Are you kidding me? that’s EXACTLY what is going on here. You have the gov’t as the owner of a car company, and they can start bashing and investigating their most successful competitor! we have two toyotas, neither are subject to the recall and we have never had a problem with either of them.
